It is difficult to escape the traditional British tv scheduling with more then 2 hours of soaps airing every night, so when a trailer for the new US drama The Killing was aired, I was happy to tune in.
Viewers of the original Danish series strongly believe that the US drama is not half as good as the original and arguably is reflected through the difference in viewing figures for both series. The original series attracted viewing figures of 3,888,000 to 6,130,000 whereas the US version currently being aired is varying between 2,896,000 and 3,173,00 viewers each episode.

The 10 Peaks Challenge was an idea to raise money for charity created by Paul Smith in August 2009. After initial thoughts to take on the challenge with a couple of friends Paul decided to create a website, launched in September 2009, and try and attract others. Because he had very little money to promote the event the marketing consisted predominantly of social media combined with good search engine optimisation. The graph below shows how successful this has been.

Guernsey’s ambitious Donkey Parade project now has its own website, guernseydonkeys.com, with details on all 40 sponsors (and their donkeys), together with a location map, showing where individual donkeys will eventually be proudly on display for public viewing, and a blog for updates on how the different donkeys are developing their own personalities. Peak2Piste is the name for a group of 5 guys from Guernsey who are about to embark on an exciting adventure to undertake a 3 month ski/snowboard instruction course in the world famous resort of Whistler in Canada. The course starts on the 5th February 2011 and by the time it finishes they are all hoping to have achieved their CASI/CSIA level 2 qualification. Read more
