In this series of photos, Double Explosure by Tierny Gearon, the images don’t rely on post production manipulation but instead have been created doubly exposing a film with two different shots. Instead of scanning over these images I find myself spending far more time looking at each of them in all their detail. I think this is what dreams would look like if you could take snap shots from them.

Photography Festival Photosynth
May 14th, 2010 · Ric · No Comments

I created a Photosynth of the Guernsey Photography Festival photo cube. It is my first synth proved to be the perfect subject. Photosynth very cleverly takes a collection on photos and plots them in 3D by looking for related points in each image. You click the images to navigate the space, zoom in and out, look around objects and be free to explore. Whilst there are a couple of little quirks the overall result is very good.
View the live Synth below or view a larger version.
You’ll need the free Silverlight player installed if you want to see it in action.

20 years and one day ago you used to be able to believe what your eyes told you — a picture never lied. Then Photoshop was born and everything changed. It’s come a long way in that time and continues to amaze with new features and ideas keeping it at the top for a long time. It has to be one of the most successful pieces of software ever. Adobe and Photoshop users are celebrating today, and I know I’ll be having a drink later too! (Any excuse). Read more

Here is a satellite view of Great Britain, taken during the week, showing the vast snow coverage. When you look at it from this angle it’s not a wonder Britain has been at a standstill.

October 19th, 2009 · Ash · No Comments
Here is a series of photographs by Dean Rogers, with a dark undertone. These photographs were shot at the scene of death of famous heroes killed in car crashes. It includes Jackson Pollock, Marc Bolan, Albert Camus, Helmut Hewton, Eddie Cochrane and one of the most famous crash victims, Princess Diana. Each photograph was shot at the time of death on the anniversary of the death of each of the crash victims.
