
With the recent media coverage on smoking in films as being harmful to children, there has also been a resurgence of nostalgic cigarette advertising.
With the information that we now have on the harmful effects of smoking the whole concept for these ads seems laughable and shows how radically things can change in a relatively short space of time. It also shows the shift in attitudes when a celebrity who would now inevitably be chastised for smoking, was then used as an endorsement to encourage sales.
