Grammalogue Now & Then

Over the last few months we have been working hard towards this year’s Grammalogue, so the project was fresh in my mind when I found this similar publication at The West Show.

Having been educated at the Grammar School, it was the bold moto across the front cover that I recognised, but this booklet was actually produced in 1932 for the Boys’ Intermediate Grammar School.

‘The Intermediate’ includes advertising, school results and events, field trip reports, fun facts, jokes and poems, which also makes up a large part of today’s Grammalogue content.

Perhaps most interestingly for us was to see the advertising of the time, particularly for those businesses that are still around today…
