From 28th February 2011 product placement will be permitted in UK-produced programmes but as part of this agreement viewers must be warned. I’m not quite sure why? Maybe so you can play ‘spot the placement’ as an extra level of entertainment! I’m sure it will be pretty obvious anyway.
You can expect to see awareness ads at least a week in advance detailing what this new logo means. I personally think it a bit pointless but I like its simplicity in design terms.

A grand Gala Ball in Guernsey, headlined by Rory Bremner, in aid of Changing Faces charity and the Red Cross Children’s Hospital in South Africa, took place at St James, St Peter Port, on Friday 4 February 2011, with the intention of raising considerable sums for both worthwhile causes, each having an important local connection.

When Condor Ferries nominated Channel Islands Air Search as its appointed ‘charity of the year’, Betley Whitehorne was asked to design an impactful poster that would clearly illustrate the vital role played by CIAS as part of search and rescue missions, mainly at sea, as well as motivating onboard passengers to donate generously (Condor plan to display A1 and A4 posters on all vessels during 2011, providing an appropriate charitable link, given its sea-based business and important Channel Islands links. The little yellow collection boxes are also planned to be conveniently located around Condor’s fleet).

The clever guys in Betley Whitehorne’s creative department have come up with their own interpretation of QR, the increasingly used Quick Response digital graphic device for recognition by smart phones/mobile scanners. QuickReveal.com is an online photographic record of fun, interesting images that change on a daily basis. The Betley Whitehorne QR graphic can be found on the back page of the Guernsey Press, for mobile phone users, or else accessed online.
