This Sand Glass LED traffic light concept is a very elegant and clever piece of design. Simple ideas are often the hardest to improve upon as you don’t want to muddy the concept with too many additions. However designer Thanva Tivawon has done a great job at improving the usability of traffic lights whilst keeping them simple, a quick glance still tells you the most important message, to stop or go, but look a little longer and the familiar hour glass iconography provides more detail. Genius!

HTML5 Magic with Canvas Rider

Canvas Rider is pure genius and written entirely in JavaScript and HTML5 goodness, so no plugins required, no Flash, nothing*. Okay, you need a modern browser such as Firefox or Chrome but that’s not the point, this is entirely built using open, Internet standards so in time all browsers will support it. HTML5 is about more that just building information sites, you build games too!

Bringing Christmas Home for The Energy Centre

Betley Whitehorne have just designed and produced a handy A5 booklet for The Energy Centre, in Guernsey and Jersey. At Home at Christmas is a mini catalogue that is full of Christmas gift ideas – from the latest electrical gadgets, to stylish kitchen deals. The booklet also launches this year’s Christmas competition, with £1200 worth of family entertainment available to the lucky winner (entry forms available at The Energy Centre – Admiral Park, Guernsey or Tunnell Street, Jersey).

Isabelle Vets launches new Lost Pets service for Guernsey

As proud sponsors of the Pet Patrol feature on Island FM, we were tasked by Isabelle Vets to further develop their association with Guernsey’s Lost Pets. With a huge BW team effort we realised that to re-enforce the community aspect of this service we had to provide Guernsey pet owners with a mechanism in which they could register, search and view lost and found pets. Our recommendation was to develop a website that would help pet owners become reunited with the pets: Isabelle Vets Lost Pets.
