Here are a few more Kinect Hacks showing touch screen is so passé! Zooming around the map is 3D looks very exciting!

Fluid Interfaces at MIT have made Kinect talk with JavaScript in the web browser for some interesting interactions. I like the hand opening and closing for menus and links.

Digital Projection at Saks, New York

November 25th, 2010 · Paul · No Comments

I was very impressed with this digital projection on the façade of Saks’ flagship store on Fifth Avenue, New York. This was made possible by six state-of-the-art projectors. An accurate map of the building and its features are stored in the computer system to enable the animation to interact with the building. This technology brings a completely new dimension to window displays and I’m sure we will be seeing more use of this in the future.

Coming to a road near you soon…

November 18th, 2010 · Ric · 1 Comment

This Sand Glass LED traffic light concept is a very elegant and clever piece of design. Simple ideas are often the hardest to improve upon as you don’t want to muddy the concept with too many additions. However designer Thanva Tivawon has done a great job at improving the usability of traffic lights whilst keeping them simple, a quick glance still tells you the most important message, to stop or go, but look a little longer and the familiar hour glass iconography provides more detail. Genius!

HTML5 is about more that just building information sites, you build games too!
