This year we took the opportunity to give the Victor Hugo Music Festival a refresh. The site has been totally rebuilt in HTML 5 and this gave us the chance to make it wider and easier to use more visually appealing.
Below left: the new artists page, below right: the 2008 design. The layout is now wider to take advantage of modern displays with higher resolutions and the dark brown colouring gives the site a more contemporary feel. Navigation is much more visual with users clicking artists photos.
The wider design of the 2010 site allows more space for formatting the event listings improving the readability of the site. This is further enhanced with the large text version of the site that users can switch to using the toggle above the menu. As the site has been re-written in HTML5 it’s more accessible for man and machine!
