We were recently asked by Shadbolt Pacific, the UK’s second largest door manufacturer, to overhaul their existing website. Our task was to create a site that reflected their premium quality products and high levels of service. We were only too happy to oblige and set about a complete re-design of of the site and a refresh of their brand. www.shadboltpacific.co.uk

Recognising the need for the new site to be as user friendly as possible, we introduced a veneer search facility, clear navigational signposts and a completely new Contact Us page combining a call back feature and dynamic validation ensuring all the correct fields are completed. The veneers have been cleanly laid out with full information on each. Therefore providing their target audience of architects, interior designers and professional builders with a site that offers all the necessary information that is easily accessible.
The website uses a host of cutting edge technologies to enhance the user experience. Veneer of the week on the homepage has subtle animation when rolled over build using standards based SVG that works in the latest web browsers, but degrades gracefully in older browsers.
Other effects built using JavaScript soften page loading and add additional functionality such as enlarging veneers when clicked. Again, all these features degrade gracefully meaning the site is accessible to all users. We also made use of downloadable fonts allowing the client to use their corporate typeface on the site instead of being locked to the usual handful of ‘web fonts’ helping enhance their brand and identity. The site showcases emerging technologies without sacrificing cross browser compatibility.

Under the hood the website runs on the latest version of our Content Management System (CMS) that allows the client to update all areas of the site, from adding news stories and pages to uploading veneers and viewing visitor statistics. The CMS gives a lot of control over content and ensures it is correctly formatted for the design of the site and also optimized search engines. A fine degree of control is possible through the use of ‘versions’. These allow the client to revise content before putting it live and when the new text gets signed off it can be swapped with the old content. At any time the old page can be reinstated or the changes compared. For more information please contact us.
