In the past, they said in the future, which is now the present, that we’d have all sorts of food innovations such as magic pills that contained entire meals, and vending machines that could create any flavour you wanted. Whilst not quite at that level I like this entry for the Electrolux Design lab 2010 — a bio robot refrigerator that cools food using no electricity. Read more

These guys must practice alot but I think that the results speak volumes. I’m not sure if they are available for hire but imagine them supporting your team or event. What an amazing display of typographic fun on the big scale. The kanji characters splitting and reforming halfway through the video was impressive.

The number of seconds it takes for a website to load is very important. This initial loading time is the first impression a website makes on a user. Once upon a time, when we used 28.8kb modems, we’d wait thirty seconds and think it was slow but acceptable. As the speed of our connections has increased our patience has reduced. We now want pages to load instantly.

The fabulously named ‘The Guernsey Society of the Men of the Trees’ has recently launched a scheme to help recognise the importance of trees, with help from Betley Whitehorne. Treasured Trees is an initiative that includes a visit to Guernsey by Jon Stokes, Director of The Tree Council (30 June, Candie Gardens Museum,
St Peter Port) as well as a structured programme of educational school visits. Betley Whitehorne crafted a distinctive new logo for Men of the Trees, as well as an awareness poster campaign for Treasured Trees.
