Harriet Russell’s Envelopes

March 26th, 2010 · Adam · No Comments

It is a sunny day in the university library and a tallish man is looking through the illustration section. He notices a book by Harriet Russell called Envelopes, he is completely unaware that years from now he will blog about that very book.

Harriet Russell has created a wealth of different ways of communicating an address: mazes, join-the-dots, anagrams, illustrations, puns, visual games, experimental fonts, puzzles, and literary wordplay. You may find it hard to believe that the majority of the envelopes arrived at their intended destinations, but they did, and all have the postmarks to prove it! Their safe delivery is a tribute to the heroic postal employees who rose to the challenge.

Have a look at her website or go to your nearest online shop and buy a copy of this lovely book.
