Gary Aurigny Coca Cola

Gary enjoys a Coca Cola on his Aurigny flight to Manchester, he knew that it wasn't good for him but thought he would need all the energy he could get to take on the 10 Peaks challenge, albeit over three days instead of one.

He was excited about the trip and the cold weather didn't worry him. He wasn't in the best shape of his life but knew the route should be manageable over the weekend.Gary takes a break on day one of 10 Peaks recce

Gary climbs Lower Man first peak in the 10 Peaks

Gary at the summit of HelvellynGary stops to enjoy the view on the first of the 10 Peaks, Lower Man. Two of the team had already turned back because of the lack of grip but Gary felt confident despite not having crampons.

The view from the summit of Helvellyn wasn't the best due to the low cloud, but he had just climbed the third highest mountain in England standing at 950m, so wasn't surprised.

Gary enjoys the view at the top of Great Gable

In his tired state he is confused when he sees a Red Squirrel sign - he didn't even realise that squirrels could drive at all!

You’ve got to hand it to Gary.

No wonder Red Squirrels are in decline if they’re forced to drive slowly as the Gray ‘s (yes I know that’s American spelling, it’s where they’re from) rush by.

There really is no end to Gary’s skills and travel experience is there?! What a very talented glove.

He could do with a shave — looking a bit fluffy around the edges, not to mention he needs fattening up…
