Every young boy dreams of owning a flying car. We were told by the year 2000 we’d all be flying to work, sadly it took a few more years than that – and might not be that practical yet, how many of us have a landing strip on the office roof?

However this amazing, aggressively designed car by ParaJet Automotive can fly, and is available to order now. I think it looks great and love the strong, hard lines, it is like a life size remote controlled car. The flying mode isn’t quite so cool, as it’s slung beneath a large parachute for lift, but I still think most guys excited at the prospect of flying one.

I can see it being the ultimate island hoper, or a good way of taking a day trip to France, and with a 0 – 60 time of 4.2 seconds it’s pretty nippy for driving down the wrong side of the motor way too. I’m now accepting donations towards the £10,000 deposit. More information can be found here.

Nice car but it is not a true flying car. It is just in the air with the parachute. If it is flying, where is a turbine or something a rocket to fly.

Cool! Do I need a license to drive one?

@Erin Well technically it is as it does fly, and not just glide. Birds fly without turbines!
@lena, I’m not sure if you need any special license for the flying part, but the car is road legal so a normal driving license should do.

That’s cool! If you look at the site, it really does fly. It takes off and everything. I would be scared to death to fly one of these, but I’d love to have one anyway.

There was a documentary on UK Channel 4 the other night. It’s available online.
I don’t think I’ll be putting down a deposit
