Vertigo sufferers can now push their fears right over the edge in the tallest skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere.

Sears Tower LedgeA set of glass balconies on the 103rd floor at Sears Tower, in Chicago have been created to give a floating sensation to any visitors brave enough to try them out.  The glass is three layers thick, one and a half inches in total, and capable of holding five tons.  It is said that some visitors may experience a floating sensation when they step out into one of the four glass boxes, which only allow one row of people, to increase the feeling of flotation.

The tower is now attracting 25,000 visitors on a clear day, and other changes are on the way for the tallest tower in the United States.

If you’re after another fix check out the Grand Canyon Sky Walk.

Sears Tower or Grand Canyon skywalk — which is the Daddy? I thought the skywalk seemed bad, but this looks equally impressive!
