Stanley Gibbons Adverts

Stanley Gibbons – stamp dealers and publishers since 1856 and more recently recognised as the home for autographs, collectibles and alternative investments, has recently taken a radical new approach to their advertising after collaborating with Guernsey design agency, Betley Whitehorne.

The agency has produced a series of adverts for Stanley Gibbons’ investment arm, highlighting the high return potential of collectibles such as signed photographs, documents and personal items from celebrities and historical figures such as Winston Churchill and Marilyn Monroe.

The new look advertising features clever slogans playing on the individuals unique credentials, against a vivid background of deep red and purple to reflect the company’s long history and prestige within these markets.

Stanley Gibbons’ Marketing Manager, Alex Hanrahan said, ‘this new direction fits perfectly with our brand values; communicating our expertise within these markets with playful slogans to engage the reader ’

Chris Betley, Managing Director of design agency, Betley Whitehorne said, ‘Working up these adverts was a joy. Stanley Gibbons’ previous advertising was highly product focussed whereas this new design really communicates with the audience.’

Stanley Gibbons new look advertising will be used as part of a national media campaign to highlight the alternative investment portfolios offered by the company through their offices in Guernsey, to include the investment publications, Money Week, Money Observer and What Investment.
