Jorge Colombo

The iphone, wonder gadget of the techno world. What can you do with one? The answer is everything, you can even phone people. One definite owner of the iPhone is Mr Jorge Colombo and he knows how to use it. Mr Colombo has recently designed the new cover for the New York based New York Magazine The New Yorker.

Using an Apple App called Brushes he parades the city in the night, capturing the sights with his sturdy finger. Here is a short video plotting his process for the New Yorker cover. (I am aware that this topic has appeared on quite a few other blogs but I hadn't seen the video on one yet, except the New Yorker one)

Before, unless I had a flashlight or a miner’s hat, I could not draw in the dark. When the sun is up, it’s a bit harder, because of the glare on the phone. It allows me to draw without being noticed; most pedestrians assume i'm checking my e-mail.

Here are a couple of images I found on his website for you to enjoy.

It may be making the blog rounds at the moment but you were there first man, first!

It’s interesting that it allows people to paint at night but I’m wondering if people mainly think it’s cool because it was made on a hand-held device. I saw a video of some new software that is so super sensitive at reading touch screens touchability that you can use paint brushes for input.
