Ever since BW got the SoccerBoy Table we have been scouring the internet for the best designed tables. We have seen some which need eleven players, all perspex, mini tables and expensive ones. However now I believe we can stop searching, I give you the Opus - created by Eleven Forty. From a distance it just looks like a nice looking table but with a closer inspection we start to realise the extent of the design and thought that has gone into it.

Normal tables are full of cloned people, red and blue kits all with the same bodies. The Opus is very different,  they use 'Doppelganger' technology to create life like players and identical strips.

"Our patent-pending Doppelganger technology makes it possible for us to mirco-cast 3D heads from photographs. This brings absolute, lifelike realism to the faces of the friends and family you'd like to field in your teams. All you have to do is send a colour head/neck shot. Using a ball of 'digital clay', our digital sculptor will create a precise replica of the picture. The players heads and bodies will be rendered in exquisite hand-painted detail "

It has panels that hide storage places for the balls, a rules plaque, spare heads and maintenance tools. The bespoke item has stainless steel fixtures, spirit levels, etched glass, and comes in a choice of oak, ash, walnut and mahogany. It also hides a beautiful nighttime feature - a luminous playing surface in a variety of different colours. All in all this table couldn't be any better, although I am not sure if it is tournament standard or has any official ITSF affiliation.

It is a great opportunity to make your dream team a reality. The Ferguson era team: Schmeichel, Evra, Stam, Vidic, G Neville, Giggs, Robson, Keane, Ronaldo, Cantona, Van Nistelrooy. But why do the teams have to stop at football players? The Big Brother contestants Vs Celebrity Chefs, Prime Ministers Vs Blue Peter Presenters or Jonny Depp Roles Vs The cast of Lost.

This is all very enjoyable but imagination is as far as it can go for the majority of us. The Opus costs a whopping $45,000, hope the dollor begins a rapid fall or start saving now.
