World’s biggest crossword appears on tower block

The crossword during the day...Crossword enthusiasts will be flocking to the city of Lvov, in the Ukraine, which is the location for the world's biggest ever crossword.

The crossword takes up the entire side of a residential building and measures in at more than 100 feet high.

Clues are scattered around the city, at major landmarks and attractions, such as parks, theatres and fountains, and visitors are encouraged to collect and decipher these while strolling around the area.

The crossword, which is is 19 squares across and 34 squares high, is far too big to be filled in by hand, so artists responsible (I can't seem to find out who they actually are?) have developed an innovative new way to display the answers - when night falls, flourescent letters placed within every square are turned on, revealing the complete solution in a light glow.  ...and at night

It is hoped that people taking part will gather outside the tower block ever night, to see if their answers are correct, although British crossword fans should think twice before booking a trip over, as the letters are all from the Cyrillic alphabet.

  1. The Biggest Drawing in the World
  2. 80-Story Rotating Tower
  3. Fears of heights are pushed to the limit
  4. Firefox is Five
  5. World Cup Chart
