Jewellers Tiffany and Co have launched a limited edition range of diamond encrusted mobile phones, with a price tag of 13 million yen, or £83,000 sterling.

The phone, which is produced by Japanese mobile company Softbank, is embellished with 537 diamonds, and features cutting-edge technology, parts created by Sharp and a platinum panel adorned with 18.34 carats of diamonds.

Despite the financial crisis, the range of ten phones sold out within the first three days of going on sale, proving that regardless of any global credit crisis, there will always be people with more money than sense.
