The Double

At 9.52am yesterday the SoccerBoy table was dismantled. The Birthplace of Sarnian table football is on a new journey as it becomes the new stadium for MooArc. Like the Wembley towers the tiny SoccerBoy with its wonky legs and sloping ground will be sadly missed.

With the grounds absence the inaugural BW Premiership came to a close. One game remained to be played, Dodgy Knee vs. Direct Input. After some discussion the match was declared a 0-0 draw. With the league officially over, Adam and The Stretfoot End were crowned champions. Due to the lack of crown and trophy Adam had to settle for an I.O.U. A historic double had been accomplished, The Curry Cup and Premiership in his first season. But when news of his triumph hit St. Martins the party (pictured) began, the Grande Rue and St. Martins Village teeming with fans.

An open top bus carried the champion through his home streets. Scenes reminiscent of The Beatles arriving at the airport in 1963. After the parade Adam met with Garlando officials and Guernsey high society at a reception at the Lt. Governor’s home where celebrations continued well into the evening.

    Well done Adam

What a fantastic win, better than all those other people. Pat yourself on the back.
