Harrods ‘High Life’ £5000 Chocolates

August 5th, 2008 · Paul · 1 Comment

When 99% of the population are saving money on unnecessary food due to the credit crunch Harrods launch a  box of chocolates costing £5000!

The 49 Swarovski-studded chocolates come wrapped in hand-woven silk from India and China and are packaged in a box made of genuine leather and partitioned with gold and platinum. The packaging was designed by Lebanese chocolatier, Patchi, for a new range of Harrod's High Life products.

A Harrods spokesman says, ‘A number of our customers have actually asked for a product such as this which has the “wow” factor.’

Of course there is a place for luxurious packaging but this is ridiculous, an obscene display of wealth. If anyone out there even considers buying these chocolates please think twice, donate £5000 to charity, and feel much better about yourself.

Couldn’t agree more. Also, wouldn’t you lose a tooth on the Swaroski crystals!?
