iPhone, ipod and internetThe 3G iPhone was unveiled yesterday at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco. Apple have addressed some of the issues with the original iPhone such as the battery life which is now comparable to other 3G phones on the market with 24 hours of audio and 5 hours of 3G talk time. It also comes with integrated GPS with Google Maps live tracking but best of all it’s less than half the price of the original iPhone starting from only $199 for the 8GB version and climbing to $399 for the new 32GB version.

“Just one year after launching the iPhone, we’re launching the new iPhone 3G that is twice as fast at half the price,”

said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO.

“iPhone 3G supports Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync right out of the box, runs the incredible third party apps created with the iPhone SDK, and will be available in more than 70 countries around the world this year.”

Unfortunately it’s not available just yet but is set for release on July 11th in 22 countries and will be available in more than 70 countries by the end of the year. Fingers crossed Guernsey will be on the list. If it is then they’ll only have to shift a further 9,999,999 to meet there yearly target!
